Some things I like:

- Chocolate soy milk.  Mmm.

- New York City.  Kind of miss it lately.  All the buildings, the people, the energy.  And friends who still live there.

- Speaking of friends, S & P.  Two of my best friends.  Congratulations!!!

- My new breadmaker.  Fresh whole wheat bread, piping hot.  So tasty.

- Running.  Been running more consistently lately, and I forgot how much I love it.  Especially around all the great trails right out my front door.

- Working at the law firm.  Haha no, not really.  But I do miss walking through Grand Central every morning.  That is perhaps my favorite building.  I just love the main concourse with its amazing architecture, soaring ceilings and bustling people.

- My coworkers.  I have some awesome coworkers.  So many good people who are fun to chill with.  They feel very much like family.

- Westerns.  I can't wait to see Appaloosa.  It looks awesome.

I expelled my first kid.  I feel bad for him - he's a good kid who made a bad decision.  Unfortunately, it was a really bad decision.  I just hope he learns from it and does better.

Been a long time since I last wrote.  So let's see what's on my mind:

- I had a great trip to Taiwan, though very very short.  My grandfather passed away so I went back for three days for the service and to spend time with my folks.  My dad was away in Europe when it happened so he was pretty broken up.  But my grandpa was 102 years old, and it had been coming for a little while.  The service was beautiful - and I say this despite the fact that I couldn't understand 90% of it - and there were over 600 people who came to pay their respects.  Overall, a great trip (though the longest short trip I've ever taken).

- Cathay Pacific is awesome.  Never flown them before, but plan to in the future.

- I have a great group of students this year.  They're a cool bunch and most importantly, well behaved.

- One of the bad parts about work lately has been that my training has been totally thrown off.  I haven't had much time, and my workouts have been totally sporadic.

- The Chiefs are awful.  I will not be surprised if we go 0-16.

- New seasons of television... thank god.  I've added Sons of Anarchy and Trueblood to the already long list of shows.

- CBS has a new show called "The Mentalist."  Worst.  Title.  Ever.

- I think I'm a pretty disciplined person in general.  But sometimes, not so much.  Even though I know I'm going to end up getting hurt, I can't seem to say no.  This has emotional disaster written all over it...

Not much to write about these days.  Work is really busy, but really good.  Even my worst days here are still better than my best ones back at the firm.

Heading to Taiwan tomorrow night for a really quick, three day trip.  Have to take care of some family things.  Looking forward to seeing the folks and taking my dad out for a beer.

So umm, Knocked Up is sort of an awkward movie to watch with someone who you've only been on a few dates with.  In hindsight, I guess that's kind of obvious... yeah...
